This small park is interesting (esp. Spider Rock) but not quite as appealing as Arches or Canyonlands. It is worth a one-day visit, mainly the South Rim. Otherwise poor region of AZ. More

Riding the rims and getting out at the overlooks is very interesting, but to really see the families and the outstanding ruins as well as understand the culture, one really needs a good native tour guide. There are many and some are not local and really don't have a native appreciation. Antelope Tours is excellent. We were fortunate to have... More

We booked an all day guided trip in the Canyon with Antelope House Tours - Ben Teller being our guide. They provided lunch at their place. Ben and his family live in the canyon and gave us a day of history, stories and insight into their way of life. It was truly on of the highlights of our trip. More

We will definitely be going back! The rock formations are spectacular with a surprise at every turn. We wanted to just stand at each overlook and absorb it all. You can spend hours just looking and listening to the quiet. The rim drives are easy to follow and offer great views of the canyon. We had the time to take... More

We booked an afternoon 3 hour tour in a closed Jeep as the weather was expected to be quite warm, high 80's, mid May 2012. Some of the other tours are called the "Shake and Bake" tour as they are in an open converted army truck with no sun cover or protection from the elements or a pop-up shower. Our... More

I have been to this park three times. It is my favorite place on earth. So vast, so spiritual and so beautiful. Do the White House ruins trail if you got 2 hours to spare. One of the best hikes I have done. If you are in normal physical strength, you should be able to do it. More

If you never tire of beautiful red rock formations and ancient cliff dwellings this is a must drive for you. I am only sorry that we did not have time for the hike at White House ruin and a guided tour into the canyon. We will be going back for those. A real treat to see the horses running free.... More

You can pay for a day or half day trip up the canyon to see the ruins up close or travel the rims for free and look down on them from the rims. Great views and panoramas. More

We loved our two day visit to Canyon de Chelly. The camp-ground was clean and comfortable. The ride thru the valley was exciting as the truck decided to stay in the river and keep moving. Lots of ruins and many people still use the valley as a garden, cattle, and other uses. Completely different from Grand Canyon but still worth... More
