I have no loved ones buried here, but just the sight of all the graves can be quite emotional. The setting is just beautiful and the upkeep of the grounds is meticulous.

It is a National Cemetery that happens to be located in a beautiful place. Take the trip out on the point, stop at the cemetary and pay respects to those that served and died. Grounds are being updated to make the grass more presentable. continue on you journey to Cabrillo National Monument just a short trip further out the point.
If you're going out to Cabrillo monument, stop by the cemetery on the way out or back. You just need to pull over on the side of the road and walk in. It's humbling and well worth it especially if you have kids and want to show them a visual of the sacrifice others have made.
This beautiful, quiet, final resting place for military vets looks over the impressive harbor and North Island Naval Air Station. The juxtaposition of a peaceful resting place for so many who gave so much, next to the impressive power of the 7th Fleet and the beauty of San Diego in the background is absolutely unparalleled. Take a reverent slow drive... More
Fort Rosecrans is the resting place for my mother and stepfather. My stepfather was a disabled world war 2 veteran. This cemetery is the home of thousands of our military vets and their wives/husbands. It is well maintained and in a beautiful location. From their grave site the view back across the San Diego harbor is outstanding.
