The America's Cup trophy is named after the yacht 'America'. We conduct regular public trips on the race yachts around San Diego bay where the guests get to participate if they wish as part of the crew. On a busy day we will have both yachts out racing against each other. San Diego is the only place in the USA where you can race on these style yachts. The larger America does amazing 4 hour whale watching and sunset sails to the ocean for both the Gray whale migration in the winter and the Blue Whale viewings in the summer. « less

Sailing on the Stars and Stripes is a great half day adventure. We were too late in the season to see whales but we saw seals and dolphins. I felt safe with a seasoned crew and since we were in the bay there was no sea sickness. Great views of San Diego sky line and many, many boats. The crew... More

Whale watching has always been on my bucket list but I was nervous about getting seasick. Next Level offers a no seasickness guarantee. I did take Dramamine before going as well. I did not get sick and really enjoyed our whale watching excursion. It took awhile to find whales which extended our day but it was worth it! We saw... More

Sailing on the Stars and Stripes is a great way to see San Diego Harbor. The staff members are all very friendly and can tell you almost anything you'd want to know about the harbor, the America's Cup, or sailing. They engage all of their sailors in the fun. You can tell that they love sailing and enjoy sharing their... More

I have dreamed of going whale watching since we moved to CA in 1995 and I saw wild dolphins playing off the coast @ Will Rogers State Beach. Finally - made it happen. I could not have imagined a better experience. The weather, the whales, the crew, the America - everything exceeded my expectations. And - it was a value,... More

Ok, I didn't really swim with whales, but I bet I got your attention. My wife and I took the trip as novice whale watchers so we didn't really know what to expect. It took us about an hour to get out of the San Diego Bay and out in the open sea. Along the way, including in the bay,... More

We salute Captain Troy and his crew for an amazing day of sailing. Even though we didn't see any whales up close, the Captain did his best by sailing out over 13 miles, we thoroughly enjoyed our excursion. Our trip began seeing the jets and helicopters taking off from North Island, the boomer submarine, and the new lighthouse at Cabrillo... More

It was a very unique experience for me. Although I wish we could see more whales up close. The weather was decent on our sailing date last month on 1/23! The captain was very informative and the crew was nice. I will definitely sail with them again!!!!! The only complaint I have is that I wish there were more seats... More

I would highly recommend a whale watching trip on the America to anyone, young or old. It was probably the worst weather of the season - cold and rainy. We even received an email the day before advising they may have to cancel and offering to reschedule or refund. Despite the weather, a group of about 35 of us set... More

We've spent an amazing couple of hours on the "America" last Monday following and watching a group of 10-15 grey whales moving up and down where we were about to see their tails a lot of times. There were no motor noises that could have disturbed the quietness and beauty of this sight. It was so relaxing watching the slow... More

We wanted to introduce our 6 year old granddaughter to whale watching. WHAT AN AMAZING DAY we had. Since my husband, grandson, and I have been whale watching many times and many locations we thought we would give the sailing trip a try. First of all, we saw the most amazing large pod of grey whales. I counted 12 together,... More
