I grew up in San Diego and have been going to the MoM since the early 1950s. It is now totally PC and all of the old, educational exhibits have be downplayed. Diversity is the theme throughout. Anthropology is definitely in second place. And, why is the gift shop closing?

Again, we enjoy the exhibits, the ambiance and the setting. We spend a day walking Balboa park and choose a museum for the visit. M o M is one of our favorites. Give it enough time and make sure you know what is on display so that you see something that you are interested in.

This museum is so fascinating--I love the history of man from the beginning of time through to present. It is fun to see the timeline of important inventions as well. The "shrunken heads" exhibit is great.
