Hello. My sister and I will be visiting Mission Beach for Memorial Day Weekend 2012. I saw the weather will be pretty cloudy. Will this stop a lot of people from going out there? Will it still be pretty busy??

if you are looking for a well groomed beach with plenty of things to do then Mission Beach is the place for you....The quaint shops are very cool, some pricey some not so much but very quaint in any event! The paved walkway along the beach is great for roller blading, biking or jogging or even a stroll with your...

Drove down the entire beach, found parking very easily, great place to play in sand, have a beach fire, swim, surf, collect shells. Several restraunt, coffee and ice cream spots to stop. Near the airport, so great for our toddler to watch all the planes fly overhead. Marina and playground at the very end of island.
I love mission beach. It still has the old school vibe to it. There are a large number of places in the area to eat and get a drink. Strictly cash though. ATM machines are all over the place. The pier is cool to take a walk after a meal, watch the surfers, or watch the sun set. A lot...

Mission Beach is a gorgeous run of super-soft sand with a huge lifeguard house. There is no charge to go out onto the beach. The beach has designated areas for surfing and swimming, indicated by a yellow/black checkered flag. Behind the beach area are restaurants, shops and the "Coney Island"-like Belmont Park amusement park. The beach was very clean and...

We ventured there for breakfast one morning and loved it! They have breakfast bars overlooking the ocean. You can watch cyclists go by and surfers having a blast. Loved the culture and the views!
This beach is close in to San Diego, so it's busy. There are boardwalks/bike paths and lots of restaurants. It takes a bit of effort to drive through the crowded streets to the busy parking lots, find a space and get out to the beach. There are plenty of people to play with once you get there, keep your eyes...

When I got to San Diego, my main goal was to see the Pacific Ocean up close and personal. When I arrived at Mission Beach, I did some shopping for souvenirs for my family and myself. I then walked to the beach and as I got closer to the water and actually walked into the water, but not too far,...

A tourist trap with overpriced mediocre food places. The Beach itself is very nice and the mile long board walk too. The old wooden roller coaster is fun too. Mission Beach has lots of young people left over from the hippie generation. Rent a beach bike and go to La Jolla, that will make your day.
Our group wanted to kayak, and all of us were new to it.... mission beach is just the place to be if you do not want to kayak your way through waves. The water is pretty silent providing for a nice kayaking experience and the surroundings are lovely so you dont get bored either..... what a lovely place n way...
