Very well laid out and took all day to even get through half the property. The shuttle tour is worth the time in the beginning to get used to the layout. It was very busy but didn't feel cramped.

Love the San Diego Zoo! We went there around 9:00am and it was the best time when all the animals were out. It is alot of walking so be prepared. Other then that the zoo is awesome!
By far the best part of our trip! I've been to the Calgary Zoo - which is a high class zoo, but this one is in a whole other category! So well done with so much time and effort put into everything. We spent over 6 hours there and we could have spent longer for sure!
Wear comfortable tennis shoes, lots of walking, climbing and on a humid San Diego day takes a lot out of you! Taxi stands are a good jaunt from the exit--more walking!
I grew up going to this zoo and The Wild Animal Park and so have adult kids. Would you believe free parking? Our family will never be there for the last time. Coupons are easy to come by even though the admission is very reasonable and goes to a great cause. You can get a LOT of exercise or take...

We had purchased our tickets online with a discount code, so we just had to print them out from the kiosk (very quick), no line to enter. We visited the Reptile House and Reptile Walk until the Sky Tram...

Being from Australia we have a wonderful zoo but I'd always heard San Diego zoo was the best in the world. It was. The zoo was amazing and the layout was great and easy to get around. There were some long lines (for the pandas etc) but was mostly fine
If you love animals go here, and you are not bothered by the smell go to the San Diego Zoo. The place is huge, with so many things to do! :)
We took our shuttle drivers advice, we arrived not long after opening and headed straight to the Pandas and got a great view with not many people having yet made their way down there. We then went back and took Guided Tour Bus to get an overview of the park. Spent the rest of the day wandering around the park...

The San Diego Zoo has always made me nostalgic. I remember going there when I was younger with the fam. Went last year with some friends, we thought it would be fun, it was ok, but not nearly as great as I thought it was when I was younger
