The zoo in Topeka has not always been the first place for us to take our family, but under new management it has greatly improved. We have a membership and take our family a couple of times a month. It's a small zoo, so it's great for smaller kids who tire quickly. More

Originally planned to spend the afternoon here with friends, but when we arrived we were informed that the Rainforest building was closed for construction updates. That cut our trip a little short. The zoo is on the smaller side but well kept, and the animals seemed well cared for. The big cats have newer exhibits, and the zoo has lots... More

Although it is not large, it is a nice zoo. It was not crowded and a lot of the employees took there time to converse with us about the animals. The baby hippo is especially cute! There is a great looking park next to the zoo that is free and would be a nice place to picnic and play for... More

Every time we go 1/2 the animals are off exhibit, it seems like they do all of the mantainence during the open hours. We go to the zoo during the day, on the weekdays about once a month and today was the first day we saw the baby hippo on exhibit since it was a few weeks old! Today they... More

Fairly nice, well kept small zoo with small pet/feed the critters areas. Rainforest is interesting when not chopped back to stubs. Typical array of animals with a few very good exhibits most are mediocre. Easy access for folks travelling, and particulalry suitable to families with small chidren. Right sized for the stroller set! A decent place to take kids that have short attention spans and get tired easily. This zoo is probably the smallest zoo i have ever been to in my life. But that's okay. I am not really a zoo person. I have been to some of the huge ones-- san diego, fort worth, et al. But I am usually bored... More

Nice zoo - easily done in a few hours. After the Zoo make sure to stop at Gage park, ride the train and carousel, and visit the rose gardens. More
