We started our trip in Tupelo the Northern third of the Trace traveling to Nashville, TN Very beautiful and leisurly drive. The Trace is well marked and had excellent pull offs with written history on signage. Turkey, fox and buzzards were seen all the way at at stops. More

We rode from Natchez to Nashville on our bikes (bicycles) and had a blast! We loved the scenic views and seclusion you feel on the Trace. We stumbled on some neat towns and good food. But watch out for traffic!!! Especially in Jackson and Tupelo. Tupelo drivers are the WORST! They see how close they can get and how fast... More

If you're headed from Tennessee down to Louisiana, I'd definitely recommend this drive. It works especially well if you meander through the Trace in small increments. Spend a day or so on various sections and really take the time to explore what's available. We had a great time visiting the ruins of the Windsor Plantation near Port Gibson and then... More

While on a 27 state road trip my father and I decided to take this drive from Nashville, TN to Tupelo, MS and was it ever a good choice. This section of the road is probably only one third of the entire drive. If I recall correctly the speed limit is 45 mph so it isn’t a fast drive, although... More

Had a book that told us what to look for at each mile marker. Would highly recommend "Guide to the Natchez Trace Parkway" second edition by Bachleda. I think we would have missed many things if not for the book. Most of all, take the time to enjoy and imagine the history as you walk some of the old Trace. More

Beautiful, tree-lined, tranquil well-preserved historical, mostly litter-free parkway without power lines. The only drawback was the intermittent road construction occurring at different segments of the stretch -- requiring detours. The 50-mile per hour speed limit and ultra light traffic allows for relaxing, unhurried cruising -- and not for those in a hurry or tight schedule. In keeping with the pristine... More
