I am lucky enough to live across the street from the Sam Adams Brewery and have done the tour several times. The guides have always been entertaining and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, which means you have more fun! I do like learning about beer, but it's true that if you're going more for the information this isn't... More

I have been on two Budweiser tours (one in St Louis and one New Hampshire) The Samuel Adams Brewery is not like those. First off, the actual tour (in the facility) is very short, maybe 5-10 minutes. The rest of the "tour" is in their tasting room. You do get a lot of beer, however, where it differs from the... More

While the brewery was a bit out of the way, our tour guide (Sam) was quite entertaining. We enjoyed learning about the brewing process and especially the new specialty beers. They even gave our son a root beer. Overall, it was definitely worth the trip.

There isn't really a tour as such for the moment due to construction work, but I knew this in advance. What we did have was a lesson in the ingredients that go into beer making, including tasting different malted barley grains and seeing the hops. This was followed by a beer tasting session of Boston Lager, Summer Ale and an... More

While it's true that the brewery is currently under construction and parts are closed off to visitors, we still found the tour to be adequate and had a good time. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, and you can't turn down free beer. During the tasting portion, be sure to sit at the end of the table- full pitchers are... More

Despite ongoing construction forcing the tour to be "abbreviated", I found it to be very educational and entertaining. Our tour guide, Gabriel, was awesome! You get to actually smell, feel and even taste the malt ingredients that go into making beer! The beer-tasting room was very nice, and I got to taste three beers(one of which is currently "experimental" but... More

Don't get me wrong, I figured there would be beer drinking at some part in the tour but not the whole tour. Basically the brewery is under going renovations so you don't actually see ANY brewing. It's on the website that this was taking place in March but this is now May so they must be going slow... So they... More

As soon as we got off the plane, we went straight to the Sam Adams brewery. Best thing I've done in a while. Awesome tour guide (Dave). Super funny. And most importantly... Free beer!! Not really sure why this isn't #1. Definitely a must go!

A good time at the Brewery, seeing the factory and where it all happens, then into the tasting room where you get a little history on the different brews and where they originated. The guide makes it fun and interesting. We all received souvenir glasses from the tasting. From there we plunged into the "party bus" that transported us to... More

On our visit to Boston last September we took a tour of The Sam Adams Brewery. We took the T to Jamaica plain and walked like 2 blocks to the brewery. The admission was only $2.00 The tour started in the brewing area where we had a chance to taste and smell the different hops used for the different ales.... More
