I loved the Movie "Boondock Saints" and always wanted to visit the church. When my best guy friend moved to Boston, Mass. last year, I made plans to visit him this year in March. After I arrived in Boston, my friend Josh said that I just had to visit his church on Sunday. Of course I said "yes." Then the... More

This is a beautiful church, though probably the second most beautiful in Copley Square. They also have intersting public programs with good music (Jazz and Classical). More

In the northwest corner of Copley Square a tall bell tower and a massive ornate copper clad Italian Gothic cupola, both looking like they would be equally at home in Venice, provides a dramatic counterpoint to the 20th-century blue glass John Hancock in the square's southeast corner. Old South Church, founded in 1669, left its downtown meeting house (now a... More

We were fortunate enough to be there on the afternoon of New Year's Eve when the organ Master was explaining & demonstrating the Church's amazing instrument. We have honestly not been fans of organ music before, but Thank You for opening our eyes to a truly incredible musical instrument! I would highly recommend touring this site during a demonstration like... More

We walked in on a orchestra rehearsal, and what a great experience that was. The acoustics are amazing. The authenticity of the building in general is impressive. We also attended a performance on the amazingly huge pipe organ. It was truly an enriching musical experience. More

If you need a break from shopping, running around aimlessly listening to honking horns and dodging city traffic, walk into Old South Church on a weekday morning or afternoon. The doors are always open, there is no charge for a 'self guided tour" (unlike magnificent Trinity Church diagonally across the street, which charges an unconscionable $7.00 to 'self guid' around... This is another gem in the Copley Sq area in addition to the beautiful Trinity Church and the wonderful Boston Public Library. The Old South Church is gorgeous both inside and outside. The building itself is a magnificent piece of architecture. I believe it was originally of Puritan origin and later became a Congregational Church (later merging into the United... More
