This 3 hour food tour of the North End was the best part of my 3 days stay in the North End. I wish I did it the first day! Jim was our guide and he was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning some history of the area. We stopped at 6 shops where we had tidbits of some of their... More

When my husband asked me to join him on his business trip to Boston I decided that it was my chance to see the city my way. I hit the net and browsed through the tripadvisor forums and became excited with ideas sent in about "quirky" things to do in Boston. I am always up for quirky. They suggested the... More

I was taking a large group of business poeple on an Achievers Trip to Boston and wanted to do something different whilst learning aout the real Boston. Michele and Jim's Food Tour did just this for us and I am so grateful to them for a wonderful day. We started with breakfast coffee and pastries in Caffe Paradiso and then... More

The tour took us through several shops in the North End. At each shop we learned a bit about the different foods that were sold at the shop and the shops gave us several items to sample. The tour was wonderful, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have a problem with small spaces as many of the shops were... More

A wonderful way to spend the afternoon - lots of great tips about food in general and food made and sold in the North End. A great way to better understand Italian food. One learns a lot about Italian pastries, olive oil, cheeses, wines, and spices! And you get a great list of suggested restaurants as well. More

We lucked out and got a private tour. They were all booked up and added an extra tour which didn't get filled. So even if you get on her wait list, you may still get in. We learned a lot about the North End in Boston and got to go into the smallest meat & cheese shops. Large groups sometimes... More

Loved this tour of the Italian community in North End. Went back my last morning in Boston to shop for dried chestnuts from Italy (nice for Thanksgiving prep) at Polcari's and pistachio amaretti cookies from Maria's Bakery...and just to enjoy the essence of the neighborhood one last time. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining, with lots of ideas as to... More

Walking food tours are a great way to explore a city, learn about the history, culture and cuisine of city! Jim (a former chef) was our host and guide. As promised, we did not go into restaurants and have small plates, but rather visited shops where locals for ingredients - and sample those wonderful delicacies! This tour was one of... More

Dick was an outstanding guide. We learned about the history of the area, the impact it had on food and culture, as well as got to taste some of the unique foods to the area. It is not the type of food tour where you go inside various restaurants and sit down for tapas/small plates...Rather, you meet the local owner... More

While we knew Boston was noted for it's historical tours and also good food, we were intrigued by the option to combine both in the North End Market tour. Not only did the three hour tour cover its stated objectives, but we were also treated to a snapshot of local people, their passion for life (and food). Jim was the... More
