Knowing the brilliance and persistence of the man, visiting the place of his servitude is an inspiring, humbling experience. Even though we have come a distance since the days of slavery, this reminds us we still have a ways to go. I am thankful for Booker T. Washington. More

One must stop here to see a complete story. This monument allows one the option of travelling down a path not often visited in our history boks. More

Shows the state of life of a slave in the pre-war South. It is inspiring that B T Washington was self-motivated enough to become a leader/teacher by overcoming what appeared to be impossible odds. More

The Booker T Washington National Monument is a lovely place to walk and informative to visit. Prior to my visit I didn't know the things every American should know about this important American Educator. More

See how cold these little one room homes were ,how they lived and adjusted to life.Hard times. Also a nice gift shop with a lot of books on the Booker T history.. More

Booker T. Washington is a small, but educational and interesting park. The only problem is the directional signage leading to the park. On what is a primary route to the park, there is NO signage, and the route is complicated. I had to ask two cops for assistance, and one of them had to ask a supervisor. When I came... More
