Nice pub menu. Really wanted to try the rabbit stew; not available. Had sort of a charc plate with housemade sausage & brown bread, Red dragon cheese & a raisin chutney. Great nosh with a beer. Sorry I couldn't stick around for the music this evening. I'll be back. More

We saw a great band and ate some tasty food. It's a mixed crowd in terms of ages and styles. Everyone was very nice. More

We had lunch at Jack of the Wood during a recent trip to Asheville and were very happy with it. The menu is definitely bar food but it is also above average in quality and the bison burger was outstanding! They had a nice little celtic musical group playing in the corner and it was a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. Only... More

If you have a chance and want to hear some really good blue grass or local flavor music this is the spot. Laid back and easy going is the whole them. Have visited several times now since last October and its fast becoming my favorite spot at night to grab a pint and listen to great music. More

My husband and I discovered Jack of the Wood on our last trip to Asheville. It is really an excellant Irish pub. I'm not a beer drinker but the food is not your average bar fare. They have a unique dish called Scotch Egg which is incredibly good. It's an appetizer but with a side salad (also excellant) makes a... More
