I declare an interest: I am a British classical music fan and a choral singer myself, well used to excellent concert Halls and venues with good acoustics (I live in Cardiff where there is a fairly new performing arts centre/opera house, a modern concert hall and a new chamber concert hall, all with internationally-acclaimed acoustic qualities). So, with a 2-day... More

Such a disappointment to find out that the administration and the musicians could not negotiate in good faith, with respect for each other and their public. As of now, the strike is over. The Dymphony cancelled its East Coast tour, and some local concerts. Great way to increase revenue! The orchestra members, unhappy with their $165 thousands a year, got... More

The SF Symphony hall is beautiful and the Christmas concerts are always fun. A must 'to-do' item if you're in SF for Christmas.

On concert nights, the glass-walled Symphony Hall looks lit up and magical as you drive by, just like the music being performed inside. Michael Tilson Thomas is a national treasure and has really made a name for the orchestra, with many award-winning recordings. Worth a stop for music lovers.

I have been going to the SF Symphony on and off for 30 years. I am not a fan of everything, but when they do something right, it is amazing. Everyone has different musical tastes and I think the symphony offers a wide range of musical styles. I would like more new commissions of new work, but I pick and... More

Great performances all the time. You can spend a wonderful evening at a somewhat elevated state of appreciation to all the giants of the greatest form of eternal human self expression. Enjoy

It is a nice building, but you can't compare to European style. The neighborhood is full of beggars and crazy people. Did not feel very pleased.

Bad acoustics, bad customer service, I would recommend that you go anywhere else. These people are arrogant, rude, and have absolutely no talent whatsoever. You WILL be disappointed ;-(

A bit pricey but defiantly worth going to see the SF Symphony or one of the many other venues offered. A beautiful structure.
