Fantastic location on Nob Hill. Cable car outside, anything you could want to do in easy reach. And privacy. And impeccable service. And silence at breakfast. Just the way staying away from home should be. Gymnasium and pool terrific. You need to be a member, or member's guest. More

The PU Club is a private men's club. Women are not allowed to be members but may join a member for lunch in the French Room, but not the main dining room. If you are walking around Nob Hill and you are wondering what the mansion is across from Grace Cathedral, you have found the PU Club. More

This is the quintessential gentlemen's club. We stayed there as the guest of a member. The building is the house of one of the "big four" San Francisco barons and it is the only one that survived the 1906 quake more or less intact. This is, or was, now that ladies are admitted, the finest gentlemen's club this side of London's St James's.
