Telegraph Hill has a wonderful location between the bay and downtown. While their may be better, more impressive overlooks like twin peaks and Marin Headlands, this has great views of the bay and downtown and very convenient to both for visitors. Being so close, it is worth taking a few moments to visit. I will say that we followed trip... More

Sitting just above North Beach, it is a generally quieter residential neighborhood with narrow streets, but for the wider street that the Tour buses use to carry tourists up to the top of Telegraph Hill to see Coit Tower. The Hill was once at the edge of the Barbary Coast which was known for Gambling establishments, drunken sailors and dance-hall... More

Quite a nice view can be had of San Francisco from telegraph hill and it features a very visible land mark of the city. There are however places with a better view with the mature trees reducing the 360 degree view. More

Be sure to walk up the 800 stairs from Greenwich or Filbert Streets and part of your experience since parking at the top is a nightmare. There are supposedly 200-300 parrots that live in this area and are beautiful! More

Nice to go for hiking and to experience the redwood trees. There are numerous trails to walk or hike. Some take the entire day to explore various trails. A good restaurant is also nearby for lunch after exercise or you can bring a bag lunch and enjoy it with nature! More

What a tribute to the firefighters! Lily Coit had this towering piece erected to honor those brave men. The view from the top is breathtaking and the murals inside are beautiful. It is great exercise to walk there and to enjoy the view. More

The best way to travel to Telegraph Hill is to hike up the trial which also includes stairs. This will not only provide you with a great hike and good views but will eliminate the need to find a parking place at the top. This is a popular destination so parking is difficult. Once at the top of the hill,... More

Great view of the Bay & the Golden Gate Bridge. The city was beautiful as the sun set & the lights came on! Be patient, parking is limited. More
