Say San Francisco, and everyone thinks of this landmark. On a clear day it is visible from everywhere around the bay. Wether you walk across, drive over, or sail under it, the immensity of it is unforgettable. I think some of the best views are from Fort Point in San Francisco.

The most beautiful and photographed bridge in the world, from whichever angle you see it, is just stunning! There are many places around the city that offer great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, but my favourite is from Marin Headlands. To get here, coming from San Francisco, drive across the bridge and take the first exit (Alexander Ave). Then... More

Our first view of the bridge was on the Sausalito to SF ferry. We snapped some great pics. It was also a lot of fun driving over it on the open top double decker bus. You'll get an excellent view of the SF skyline. It's crazy windy though so hold on to your belongings tight!

If you have an hour to spare take the hop on hop off bus to the Golden Gate Bridge, walk across (60 minutes) and pick up the hop on hop off bus on the other side. The views are spectacular and you really get a feel for its movement and magnitude. When you think of San Francisco you think of... More

Love San Fran - the sights, the sounds. It's a fantastic city. And the Golden Gate Bridge is a must see. However, parking on the "city" side is limited, while parking on the mountain side is more available. However, you are charged $6 when you cross back to the city and there is no toll booth that collects this $6.... More

We walked the bridge (over and back) and we were lucky to have perfect weather but the bridge and view were amazing... Certainly don't get nothing like that in Perth WA!

A must to see but it's a bridge! The Bay Side bridge is more impressive with it's double level highway.

No joke, no hyperbole. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the world's engineering marvels and you can visit it, free of charge; don't visit San Francisco and pass this up! First, wear layers. While it might be warm and sunny where you are at the beginning of your day, it is guaranteed to be windy on the GG Bridge,... More

Visiting the Golden Gate is a must. There are a number of tour companies that will take you or you can simply rent a car and go yourself. What you need to know: 1. There are viewing areas on both sides of the bridge. You can park and walk out onto the bridge from both sides. You can get great... More

For a great view of San Francisco, I would recommend crossing the bridge. Although the next day it was very foggy and you couldn't even see the bridge!
