Picnic area is wonderful for kids birthdays. Had two of my grandchildren's birthday parties there. Everyone is a volunteer and they are all just super. The kids and adults really enjoyed themselves. The person narrating the ride is very good, she knows her Hawaiian history.

It is $10.00 for adults....(there are seniors rates & children's) and its particularly neat if you are staying at Ko'Olina as you go right through the property & across the golf course....a lot of fun....1st railway in Oahu.....should try at least once...wave to all the people you go by!

My 2-year-old son LOVES trains. So we decided on taking him to the Hawaiian Railroad Society and riding on the train. With the exception of the hard benches, we really enjoyed it. It is a 90-minute ride from Ewa to Waianae Point and back, so you ride through Ko'Olina. It was history on the rails, as the emcee tells you...

We recently returned from a wonderful 16 night stay on Oahu. We were travelling with our 5 kids, 13, 11, 5, 3 and 20 months, my 70something mother and our friends and their 1 year old.
