We wanted Hawaiian culture but not an overdose of political issues. Shanna chanted for us and then had us fascinated by trying to make coconut rope and playing a lawn game. We all had a wonderful time. We took the early morning trip and left from right in from of the Canoe club. Our guides were darling--Jamie and George. Barry & Jamie had lots of great stories and history of Maui. We were lucky enough to see a giant turtle...came right up to the Outrigger and really close to the surface of the water so we could see him. Had the perfect weather and water stayed calm.
