Simply amazing. Your trip to Maui wont be complete without a trip to this beautiful place. The valleys and mountains are breathtaking.

We have monolith madness in Oregon with the haystack rocks, namely Cannon Beach. It seems they have it in Maui too. Drive from West or South Maui to check this bad*ss rock out. You barely have to do anything to get within picture taking distance from it. Then go down the river and go for a little dip. I guess... More

This state park provides tropical views of the steep mountains. There is a $5 entrance fee, but worth it. Good place to take someone in a wheelchair to enjoy the magnificent views. There is a small trail with stairs taking you along the beautiful foliage and a stream. Well maintained grounds. Good sandals or sneakers for walking are best. Easy... More

Came to Iao Valley to spend some time before our nighttime flight. A disclaimer is that we did not hike any of the jungle trails or sit/swim in the water so the experience may have been limited and different to what others have posted. Iao Valley is a quick 10 minute drive from Wailuku or Kahului. The attraction and parking... More

Worth going to and explore this state park. Very easy walk especially with kids. Great views. There is a parking fee but reasonable. If you time go on a hike into the mountain

Nice place to visit and see. There isn't a lot to the attraction, so you need to understand what you're going to see. But hey, you're in Hawaii, on vacation. I'm going back this summer and plan to go back there.

Sue and I decided to take a trip to the Iao Valley from Kaanapali Beach. It's not to long of a drive 30 minutes or so. Drive back in off the main highway is really beautiful. High mountains on both sides. There is a small admission fee/parking fee to get in. Stay over to the left for some great views.... More

Iao Valley is a beautiful area of Maui, and is only a 15 minute drive from Kihei. There is free admission to the park, but you have to pay for parking. There is a lot of walking up stairs and some trails, but there were a lot of people I could see with some mobility issues, and they did ok.... More

The cinder cones are amazing at this city park. It is the site of the final battle in the conquest of Maui by Kamehaha. The battle and aftermath were gruesome but the Iao valley is impressive.
