I dont know why people would rate this garden low, its beautiful! Its definitely not jaw-droppingly spectacular; its simply beautiful. If you're in Maui for a limited number of days, you may probably skip it. We were in Maui for 8 days, and were running out of sights to see. Luckily, i found Kula Botanical Garden in TA. Its a... My husband and I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Kula Botanical Garden. It cost only $10 and took about an hour to tour. We were thrilled by the diversity of the various flowering plants from all over the world. A map was provided detailing the various areas to check out. There was seating along the way... More

The Kula Botanical Garden was on my list because it was close to Grandma's Coffee House and because I was determined to get some good pics of Hawaiian flowers in their natural setting. The garden is very small-you only need an hour or less to walk through. We saw a small array of orchids in a little lean-to/hothouse. The highlights... More

This garden is well worth the visit with winding paths filled with flowers. The proteas are magnificent and there are many other beautiful flowers. The "bird sanctuary" was sparsely populated with 2 ne ne and a couple of ducks but that wasn't why we came to the garden. Overall it was a lovely way to spend a morning. More

We stopped in the late morning and it was misty rain. The attendee gave us an umbrella. Later it came a major down pour! There are a few arbors with solid roofs but most are open. We loved seeing the Nene Geese. It's the upcountry so weather is iffy. We had driven down from Haleakala which was covered by clouds.... More

My wife and I visited the Kula Botanical Gardens during our recent trip to Maui. If you like plants (we both do) then it is a great place to spend a couple of hours. The gardens are laid out on the side of a hill so some up hill and down hill walking is required. But you should go slowly... More

Wonderful selection of orchids! The location is a beautiful backdrop for some of the more exotic plants and trees, my husband and I had ever seen. The bird of paradise are gorgeous! They have some plants that produce flowers that look like little fairies! I had to take several photos for my granddaughter! More

Absolutely beautiful plants. A lovely place to visit. No crowds, relaxing, good value. You might not enjoy it if you're not into plants, but I loved it. No complaints. More

We visited the gardens just before Christmas after seeing sunrise at Haleakala. It's not terribly fancy but it was certainly well maintained for our visit. I think it's around $10 pp so it wont break the bank. Most of the gardens are viewed from paved pathways that were all neat and clean. The entire garden is on the side of... More
