The views are astounding...The road is easy to drive, and the trip is a must. We were there on an overcast day, so missed some of the beauty, but we got the idea. More

My husband & I started by going up Waimea dr & you see the canyon this way long before you get to the overlook. very pretty drive which you can see Niihau & the beaches on the North side. Once you get to the lookout point if the guy is there selling fruit & water you must get his Coconut... More

We drove the windy steep roads to get to the lookout canyon and we were so happy we did! The views are amazing. We stopped at a few places along the way to get pictures. We were able to see a waterfall, and the canyon looks like a smaller grand canyon. I recommend you take this drive, you will be... More

Absolutely beautiful views from the bottom to the top of the canyon!!! The drive was easy and it did not take long for my wife and I to arrive to the top. Make sure you also drive further up to the Kalualu Lookout for another view of the Na Pali coastline. More

We took the drive to Waimea going up Koke rd. instead of Waimea dr. at the advise of a local. It was so pretty, winding roads and gorgeous views! We stopped at the lookout point, which was beautiful, just like a mini grand canyon. Then kept going up to the very top. OMG, the view is incredible!!!! Its mountains, cliffs,... More

If you want to hike to the vistas and see anything, get there early in the morning before the fog rolls in. It is worth getting up early to make the trek down to the vistas. More

Beautiful breathtaking views. Drive very slowly and go as early in the morning when the sun comes up as you can. Otherwise, the fog/clouds will take over and you can't see anything. And sometimes the fog comes in and if you want 10 minutes, you can then see the views. More

The Waimea canyon was hailed by Mark Twain as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"! It was amazing to see a Grand canyon like natural formation in an island in the Pacific Ocean. On a trip to the island of Kauai, the Waimea canyon should be a must-visit. The scenary enroute is beautiful. More

We drove into the canyon about 11:30 and managed to get some nice views and pictures although it was hazy. As we drove further up the road to the Kalalau Lookout it became foggy and we couldn't see any thing. By the time we stopped to have lunch at the Kokee Lodge, when we drove past the canyon lookout coming... More
