Absolutely beautiful views from the bottom to the top of the canyon!!! The drive was easy and it did not take long for my wife and I to arrive to the top. Make sure you also drive further up to the Kalualu Lookout for another view of the Na Pali coastline.

We took the drive to Waimea going up Koke rd. instead of Waimea dr. at the advise of a local. It was so pretty, winding roads and gorgeous views! If you want to hike to the vistas and see anything, get there early in the morning before the fog rolls in. It is worth getting up early to make the trek down to the vistas.

Beautiful breathtaking views. Drive very slowly and go as early in the morning when the sun comes up as you can. Otherwise, the fog/clouds will take over and you can't see anything. And sometimes the fog comes in and if you want 10 minutes, you can then see the views.

The Waimea canyon was hailed by Mark Twain as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"! It was amazing to see a Grand canyon like natural formation in an island in the Pacific Ocean. On a trip to the island of Kauai, the Waimea canyon should be a must-visit. The scenary enroute is beautiful.

We drove into the canyon about 11:30 and managed to get some nice views and pictures although it was hazy. As we drove further up the road to the Kalalau Lookout it became foggy and we couldn't see any thing.
