great family beach. drive all the way in for small kids beach. respect the locals and the local culture.
This is a nice beach, but as another person mentioned this is a Hawaiian descendent residential area. And so if you do choose to go there be respectful to the locals. Made two visits to this beach. Several people in water here as water wasn't too rough on our visits. Lifeguard on duty. Was told not to be there after dark, and we weren't so can't say why.
What a great stop. There were not many people at the beach when we were there, twice. It is an easy swim and the reef is close. There were several turtles in the area both days. A snorkel boat operates from this beach's boat launch (reservations required and this outfit parks elsewhere), so there are some other activities.
We've been to Anahola several times, as we check out as many beaches as possible in Kauaii when we visit.
