Played today -- while I understood that greens were being aerified -- and expected sand -- did not expect to see what was basically dead greens -- I expect the surface of Mars would have more green! Even fairways were dead in many spots-- so unless you enjoy Martian golf -- stay away from this course -- you pay full... More

Geez, first hole you tee off over the water (not the beach, you know, golf water) so get ready. There is a good bit of water on this course, some very nice holes. The signature hole is a par 5 to the ocean. This is the only ocean hole. It is very far from the blues but you can do... More

The fairway rough was thin and airy so never a big problem, and the grass on the fairways supported ball as if on a tee. Fun, challenging holes with some straightforward plays too. Bunkers are very strategically placed and the course itself is well thought out to mess with your mind! Greens never broke the way we expectedas someone else... More

Will never play here again. Bunkers are horrible. Hit a large lava boulder 1/4 inch under the sand. Dented my 60 degree wedge. Told the staff, no offer to repair the club. Could not dig out the stone for others. Course, particularly the fringes are in very poor condition. Cart girl and guy had no courtesy. Would drive right to... More

This is a terrible course! the expensive green fees and inner nine holes are amidst a barren, african style like tundra, virtually devoid of vegetation and adjacent to the takeoff point to the airport! Cant even hear yourself scream!- We left and at least our money was refunded.

The Beach course was in very good condition. I was pleasantly surprised. It was busy. Chances are you will not be able to golf alone. It was very well maintained. Relatively forgiving. Worth the $135 paid.

well maintained golf course, 7th hole at the ocean is worth the price of admission, would recommend getting a Golf Hawaii card to lessen the impact of the golf rates.

It has been bout 10 years since I last played Waikoloa beach course, and it has really gone down hill. Despite playing in the morning, it played like the greens had not been rolled, and the bunkers had not been dressed. Fairways were certainly not as prestine as I remember, with muddy areas and bare areas. For the price, I... More

We have played the Beach course three times over the last 8 years. The view from the par 5 #7 hole is spectacular,..we have seen our share of whales breaching the water as we putted our pars in [!!] the last time we played [first week of March]. That one hole is almost worth the [expensive] greens fee, but the... More

We come to the Big Island every year - and I try to play a number of the local courses. The two Waikoloa courses have always been on the annual list. This year, the course was in the worst shape I've seen. I don't expect it to maintain the same standard as Mauna Kea or the Mauna Lani courses, but... More
