The water was rough.. It says that on the website, everyone knew that.. That was fun actually. But I'm sure they don't bargain rough waters into the steep price. If you don't like roller coasters, you might want to see the lava a different way. We met the boat at 5:30am (usually mornings are calmer) and paralleled the shoreline for ~1/2 hour. The boat captain was very experienced navigating the boat so close to the flowing lava....and we have the photos to prove it!
