The people who guided the tour, portraying the role of farmer and wife, knew what they were talking about. They discussed water conservation, chickens, macadamia nuts, coffee (growing and processing), mail order brides, sewing, how the last earthquake effected the museum, the children's education, how the food was cooked, and more. Even the pre-teen thought it was interesting! More

Nice little place. We did a self guided tour of the outside area and you could watch them sacking the beans inside. At the time we were there, though, they were not running the machinery. My husband was very impressed with the coffee and bought some to bring home. More

The Kona Historical Society has several projects in the area. This is the latest addition to their offerings. It is highly interactive, interesting, and loaded with new information. My guests and I always come away with images of life before technology and population growth of Hawaii Island changed it. Very knowledgeable docents provide just enough information to send you home... More

On arrival we were offered a cup of Kona coffee, which was very welcome. The tour began out in the fields by the coffee bushes and moved through the various stages from collecting the beans to drying beans. Each stage was explained clearly and with enthusiasm. The tour concluded with atour of the house which is as it would of... More

I love Kona coffee and it was an absolute joy to walk around the plantation. The smell alone was like a tether to my nostrils. I could not tear myself away from the samples! My kids enjoyed the tour and seeing real beans growing on a tree left an impression with them. Although I would not let them taste the... More

Five of us happened to stop at the farm because we were curious. The woman at the entrance offered us some coffee and macadamia nuts but didn't promote the tour. We asked to go on the tour and we were so glad we did. The tour guide took us around the farm and showed us how to go from coffee... More

We stopped here for a break in our driving tours one day. The tour was both informative and fun as well as a variety of neat stuff to try afterward. It was interesting learning about the process and seeing the different machines/trees/etc. Very fun if you are someone who wants to learn a little about the local culture. More
