I live close to Kohler-Andrae State Park and visit frequently. In the spring I like to hike in the woods, the trails are nice and dry, and you don't get the lake breeze blowing hard. In summer I love to walk the miles of beach, a true treasure close to home.

This is a pretty good place to go for a walk along Lake Michigan, or on the 'cord walk' through the sand dunes. It is a little expensive starting at $5 an hour for the shortest visitor pass. And they have reconfigured it so there can be too much car traffic!

When you want to just sit and relax and listen to the water, want to hike, or want to learn something new this is a great place to go. My family and I visit this park a few times throughout the year. During the summer it's great to sit on the beach and swim in Lake Michigan. We have not... More

visited for a long day picnic. Limited trails, of course. The beach is smaller than it used to be, and a person has to be prepared for the wind, which is always high on the beach.

Kohler-Andrae, or as locals call it Terry-Andrae is a beautiful place to spend the day at the beach, camp, or even snowshoe in the winter. I've been to the east coast a few times. Save your money and visit Kohler Andrae...it looks exactly the same!

This is a well equipped State Park at an incredible beach that is perfect for swimming and riding the waves of Lake Michigan. On perfect weekend days, try to get there a little early to stake out your perfect parking and picnic spot as it can get busy.

Like this park, have gone for years with family. Nice family play area, beaches are nice to play on with kids, very popular for camping also. Some sand dunes and dog friendly areas.

Nature trails, sandy beaches with clear water swimming, and private campsites make this a must stop on your family camping trip.

Did a nice walk along some of the trails. Would say we did about 2 miles. Very nice--but windy along the water. The nature center was what we were walking too had limited hours, and we didn't want to sit and wait for them to open. Would love to camp there sometime.
