We always take our visitors here on the start of our tour of Racine....and they are often amazed. This is the most painted and sketched scene in Racine by artists. And it is indeed lovely....intimate, historic and easy to enjoy.

We love the Wind Point lighthouse. The grounds and beach are beautiful. The lighthouse was recently painted and won a contest for new windows. The Lighthouse and grounds are in excellent conditions. A great place to take kids and explain why lighthouses were needed to aid navigation before the days of GPS.

The view from the top is fantastic. If you like history and climbing the spiral staircase, watch for the tours that are conducted by the preservation society. Reservations are required.

As odd as this sounds, this is like the neighborhood lighthouse. It's a city icon, perfectly maintained and very well visited. You can tell that those to come, love to be there.
