Beautiful building and even more exquisite since it was refrubished several years ago. I have been to the Basilica many times for concerts and it creates a great combo of music with such beautiful surroundings. Even if you aren't religious you should tour St. Josephats. More

If you have ever been to St. James Basilica in Rome, this is a smaller version, but equally magnificent. It was built with materials from a demolished U.S. post office, and by working-class Poles who put in volunteer hours at night and on the weekends. The result--a stunning building with beautiful stained glass windows, statues, and domes. It is one... More

I've lived in Milwaukee my entire life and certainly this church is an icon. But frankly, up close it is pretty rough. I believe it was built from materials salvaged from a demolished bank in Chicago. The fit and finish of the chuch just isn't up to par with even the less famous churches and cathedrals throughout the midwest, and... More

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra did an outstanding job this weekend at the Basilica. This historic majestic place is breathtaking in and of itself. The inspirational music just took it to another level. More

I've been to dozens of old-world churches in Europe and this still took my breath away. You don't have to be religious to appreciate the extraordinary craftsmanship of this beautiful building. A must-do for Milwaukee natives and tourists alike. More

I may be biased, since this is now my home parish. But I selected it for many reasons. First, it is breath-takingly beautiful. I've traveled Italy and France--there are relatively few churches stateside that compare as well as St. Josophat. Second, there is a peaceful and spiritual feel about the place--an aspect of transcendence. Third, people are friendly and there... More

They simply don't make churches like this anymore. The craftsmanship and detail are unbelievable. Your eyes won't know where to look first. More

This is a beautiful Basilica that reminds one of the strong Polish presence in Milwaukee. I still remember all the Polish nuns at my school talking about how majestic this place was and how I couldn't wait to see it. Well, I did see it and was very inspired. One who travels to Europe may see a colossal church on... More
