I've not ridden a train however have stepped inside this great hall and thought the architecture was magnificent. Definitely a must see.

Eating lunch across the street I saw this building and said we should go there. I am glad that even though the tracks have moved the station still stands. As a court house now, there are security guards around but don't let that stop you from enjoying the view. There are modern day glass sculptures in the main room. Downstairs...

The station is between the Tacoma Art Museum and the Washington State History Museum. Make a day of it and visit all three. The Union Station is now a Federal Court House but the entire lobby area is open to the public and is filled with glass by Dale Chihuly. When the sun shines thru the windows it is so...

Beautifully restored Union Station, now a Federal Courthouse. Attached to the similarly designed, but recently built, Washington State History Museum, well worth a visit.
The Station is currently under renovation for a much needed facelift, so the experience is not the best. Once completed, the Station should rock!
Under renovation. Conveniently located downtown Seattle near Ball parks. Great place to catch a train to go to Portland, OR or Bellingham, WA. Not much parking.

Now a courthouse, photos are allowed inside the gorgeous rotunda flanked by marble slabs and decorated with lovely, old style accents in a New York's Union Station manner.
I went to see this place while on vacation to see friends, and I have to say Union Station is such a beautiful building, a must see... Small fee to pay but it is totally worth it!
Union Station is a gorgeous space; it handles large groups and the facility coordinators are comfortable with caterers. I've attended agency staff dinners for several years, and the occasional community presentation.
