The trail keeps expanding. It's close to making it from Spokane to CoeurD'Alene. Many outstanding views. Lots of parking spaces but lock all valuables in your trunk.
This riverside trail is about 30 miles long (?) anyway - way long enough for anybody interested in getting some real exercise. I actually came back to my hotel from a 4 mile walk and there was somebody in the hotel gym on the TREADMILL! Beautiful riverside asphalt path as far as you can run or walk!
Paved trail, wonderful route along river. Stops along way have information on hydrology. Science and solitude all in one place?
We hit the trail at the Harvard park and ride and ride to the waterfalls in Mirabeaux. Great ride along the river and it is about 13 miles round trip. Make sure to ride single file when others are coming.
This is an incredible recreational opportunity; we are lucky to have it. We live at the northwest end of the Trail and use this section frequently on our bikes; however, we often truck our bikes to Post Falls or Liberty Lake and ride the sections over to Coeur d'Alene.
Great for walking, biking, running, walking the dog, etc. Wonderful views and parking abounds along all areas of the trail.
I was down there, and low and behold, not using the outskirts of the "brush" but just strolling down the paved walkig section of the trail was a beautiful, bushy-tailed coyote. Man, never seen that in the inner city part of the Centennial Trail before. Now, before you all get upset and think that means danger, those animals are alot...

The trail is easily accessable from most of downtown and has a variety of scenery that is wonderful from urban to woodland. It follows the Spokane River and has great views of the falls ans the city. You can go from Downtown to CoeurDalene Idaho or to and through Riverside State Park. You fill find joggers, walkers, bicyclist and wildlife...

I think the Centennial Trail is one of the true treasures (among many) in Spokane. The region has some excellent trail systems, it's all scenic, paved, great parking & restrooms at access points, benches and in my opinion a world-class system. I would also consider the trail system to be a destination for travelers wanting to get away and enjoy...
