We loved the marble building, carefully polished brass and the rotunda. It was beautiful. We also enjoyed the landscaping and the lovely view. There is a path from the capitol building down to the waterfront that looked intriguing but we didn't have the time.

I can't believe I've lived in Washington for 33 years and have not visited our state capital! We took the guided tour (about an hour), our guide was very informative and fun. It's a gorgeous old building that you should go see!

Walk around the grounds of the capital as daylight fades and the lights illuminate the state Legislature building and make it glow with a radiance indicative of its importance as Washington's seat of government. It will leave you awestruck, and repeatedly clicking the shutter of your camera.

I took my kids here for a field trip this month as we are learning about government, and I haven't been to the capitol myself sense I was in 6th grade probably. When we first came in there was beautiful music coming from inside, there was an actual choir singing inside the doors, it was beautiful as the voices reverberated... More

Heading South on I-5 from Tacoma, decided to pull of for a Capitol sight-see drive-through. Easy access from the interstate and a beautiful campus! The blossoms were out so I snapped a few photos. WIt was Sunday so there was really no one around but would love to come back during the week to see the inside of the Legislature... More

We spent several hours on an escorted tour of the capital and were extremely impressed by the knowledge-level of our tour guide. The capital building is an amazing structure and worthy of your time. You won't be disappointed!

Simply telling someone about the grand architecture and the beautiful lighting and furnishings inside the Capitol is inadequate. It was a wonderful afternoon perusing history. Don't miss the outside public art or the war memorials. It's unfortunate that, on the weekends, the galleries for the Senate and House are not open, nor is the Supreme Court building. I highly recommend... More

We got a one-hour tour of the capitol just as the legislature was starting for the year. Very informative and lots of fun.

Visited the Washington State Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I like the recent addition of the three flag poles that facilitates integrity of the memorial as strictly a memorial to Washington State residents who where killed or missing in action during a very turbulent time in our nation's history.
