Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Made a weekday visit to the island with my daughter. The day a was crystal clear and the mountains were visible all around the island. With the sounds of the river and the ducks it is an accessible get away. The trail itself was a bit rough in a few spots but very doable. One clarification was the park and rec end of the island does not allow dogs but the fish and game does- I believe that is the north end.

There is a paved section of the trail, a gravel section, and a dirt section. You can travel a mile or up to 3 miles depending on which route you choose. It's quiet, you'll see and hear wildlife as well as see close up the terrain you drive by on I-5. Walk of bike.

We walked the lower loop on a Sunday morning in October. Next time we would wear hiking boots as out tennis shoes got wet with the dew. Lots of birds to see and hear. The trick is to drive past the water treatment plant and park in the lot on the right. Then walk toward and across the Spencer Island bridge. We turned right after the bridge and did the loop. Very quiet and very few people there. We ended up with about 3 miles round trip from the car. Bring a camera.

Parts of the trail were so overgrown we could no longer see the trail and couldn't pass through due to the tall tall wet grass, and blackberry bushes.

5 mike loop to take advantage of a sunny spring day in Seattle/Everett area. It was OK ! The biggest concentration of birds and animals were on the water treatment ponds ... walking back the wind was not in our favor and it was stinky 🤢 don’t think we will be back.

We started at Langus Park and walked along the Snohomish River to Spencer Island. This is very pleasant and quiet. The path is paved and level so it is an easy walk.

You have a few options to bike, walk, or take more of a hike. You can stay in the grassy/ gravel road area or go on the river side (paved here). There are birds galore. The scenery is ever changing. Some people let their dogs of their leash, but I've never met a mean dog.

This is near a water treatment plant, but I haven't ever noticed any odd smells.

We visited on an overcast day. We parked at what we thought was the entrance, but you need to go past the water treatment plant to the left. So we ended up taking the non-scenic hour walk to get to Spencer Park, but once we got there we definitely understood the appeal. Very nice and seemed to be very underutilized as we only saw a handful of people there. We were lucky enough to see one bald eagle.
