I think this place is a part of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. It is nicely decorated to the time and the gardens are beautiful! Great place for visitors or school field trips.

For anyone who enjoys gardens, easy walking paths with a great variety of plantings, almost all labeled for easy identification. Fun and interesting features throughout the garden from formal gardens, vegetables, a kitchen herbal, to spots of whimsy.

Need about two hours and appreciation of history and life about 150-200 years ago. A Beautiful set of grounds to visit. Poor choice for young kids!

The gardens were very beautiful. We enjoyed the house, but felt that we didn't get what we expected. Lovely house though and beautiful decor.

In the mean time we will have to satisfy ourselves with the museum which has a new exhibit every few months and the dozens of events held there annually. My favorite time to visit is in the... More

Very interesting house with historical artifacts but tour let down by our temporary guide who struggled to remember anything and kept referring to his notes.

Plan to visit just the gardens as the mansion will be under renovation for over a year. But the gardens and grounds around the house are worth the visit.
