All our actions aim to meet the guiding principle of "sympathetic development" in harmony with Joseph and Benno Seppelts' original ideas. This means that whatever new activities we undertake at Seppeltsfield, they should respect both tradition and environment. « less

Seppeltsfield in the Barossa Valley is a most important part of Australia's wine past. It has been well preserved by the current owners and there is history oozing out of every building. The grounds, gardens and historic buildings are beautiful, not to mention the palm lined drive into the place. Take the tour it's interesting. For a special treat pay... More

We love Seppelts for their luscious grand old ports and were glad that the winery has returned to private hands. This second visit, we were excellently hosted by Christie, who furthered our knowledge of this historic winery and also our appreciation for their fine ports. We also learnt that traditional Barossa is close-knit as a family - Rockford's wine-maker, Ben,... More

Seppeltsfield is a magnificent place to visit for anybody interested and likes wine. The history of the Barossa Valley and the Seppelt's family's influence in the region is amazing. The grounds are superb, with many places to have a picnic and wonder through. The cellar door has a cafe which is affordable and caters for all tastes. Highly recommended for... More

For $15 we did the history tour which included tasting, with $5 redeemable on purchase. The grounds are lovely, the staff are really helpful and we really enjoyed the tour. We purchased bottles of port that had aged in oak barrels for 21 years and were released in our birth years which combined with the stories behind it all, was... More

My favourite winery in the Barossa Valley. Definiitely worth a visit, and do one of their tours (if still available). Beautiful gardens too, just right for a picnic. More

We came for the tour - as we were the only takers we got a 'personalised' tour with a young man who was the 3rd generation of a local family working at the winery. He had worked the vintage so was able to talk us right through the process and show us the various buildings where it all happens. We... More
