I am glad I went to the GEO Center in St. John's, that way I understood much more about this place. I picked up a GPS guide at the Discovery Center and did the Tablelands trail. It was awesome. Can you 'hear' Silence? More

Even if you are not a geologist, the unique landscape and beauty of this area are hard to miss. Visited in summer. Perfect hiking weather. Obtain the FREE GPS guided tour from the visitor station first. Explains why this part of the park helped it become heritage site and gives amazing audio and video tour of hike that coordinates to... Doug a fellow traveller who was staying at the same B&B as we were recommended this hike, He said it was very easy with only a slight graded. May have been true, but walking into a 60 kph rain storm, made it a little more difficult, but hey it is Newfoundland, you have to accept the weather because it isn't... More

Since it is so accessible and a relatively short hike, it can be crowded in a normally uncrowded Park. The geology is fascinating, and once you actually reach the "end" of the trail, the landscape is otherworldly. More

A beautiful hike, with lots to see, though it doesn't look like it from the road. There are a ton of little streams meandering across the table lands, and you often see folks parked on the road collecting the water to take with them! The terrain can be challenging if you are hiking off of the trail, so be prepared... More

Anyone going to Gros Morne ought to fit in a stop at Tablelands. We were going and lucky enough to join up with a wonderful ranger led tour of the tablelands. The end of this 2 km trail is a beautiful little waterfall. Then, the ranger encouraged us to just take off on our own and enjoy silence and nature.... More

Although the roads are winding this is a beattiful place to see - it is an extention of the Appation Mountains that extends on down through the Eastern part of the U.S. and Tennessee. It is off the main highway but not to far from Deer Lake if you fly into there (Just North of Corner Brook). More

This was top of our list of things to do in Gros Morne and we really enjoyed the walk even though the weather wasn't brilliant. Scenically it is a good trail to walk as it is one of the few trails in Newfoundland where you are guaranteed good views as there are no trees to get in the way! There... More

If you are visiting Gros Morne this is pretty close to a must do hike. The scenery is beautiful and when we went at the end of June there were a lot of wildflowers. Interestingly (and surprising to us) a lot of the flowers were stuff we normally find in bogs, like Pitcher Plants and Sundew. As hikes go, this... More
