The most intimate and true way to see the beauty of this island is from the water. Spider took our family and friends on the sunset cruise around the island. In the 2-hour trip we learned about local culture, the business of clamming & fishing, environmental impacts of regional politics, history and fun tidbits - all in a wonderful conversation... More

Spider took my daughter and I on a fabulous 2-hour tour of Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. He is a wonderful guide -- both personable and knowledgeable . . . and we saw so many wild ponies! I have literally wanted to see wild ponies ever since I was a little girl, and this tour fulfilled my childhood fantasies! More

Five of us, including my 12 year old son, were fortunate enough to take a cruise with Captain Spider. He's funny and entertaining and he obviously loves what he does! Captain Spider was determined to show us all that Chincoteague has to offer...he knew exactly where to go to find plenty of ponies, bald eagles, a large variety of birds... More

What a great tour! Eagles, ponies, dolphins, and a great blue heron. Spider's boat is very comfortable, and he is extremely knowledgeable. A nice very small group. Recommend this trip highly. More

Beautiful views of the islands, birds & animals and local history that were detailed with information by Capt Spider. The horses, eagles, dolphins, osprey and wild ponies were a true site to behold. An relaxing evening to remember, with a breathtaking sunset. Thank you Spider for sharing your knowledge of the islands and your wonderful hospitality. We have already made... More

This was a 2 hour, 8 AM, Sunday cruise around Chincoteague with Capt. Bob and two other couples with whom we were traveling. Reservations are required as the trips fill quickly. We departed from the dock behind Anchor Inn on time and arrived back on time. This boat accommodated 6 passengers easily; I do not know if this is Spider's... More

I called Captain Spider upon arrival in Chincoteague and inquired about an improtu marriage ceremony on his boat. Captain Spider was extremely accomodating, courteous, friendly, knowlegeable, etc. etc. etc. We were married with the Chincoteague lighthouse in the background (at the suggestion of Capt. Spider). It was a wonderful day, we saw lots of wildlife (thanks to Capt. Sider's knowledge)... More

Hire Spider's boat early..he's a busy man. He married us on the boat..I imagined all kinds of possible nightmares..I wasted the worry..it was fabulous. Spider is very professional so it feels like a wedding..yet you feel like you are on an evening cruise with friends. We brought our own wine and picnic. Spider took us around the island..he's a wealth... More
