We love the Main Street Museum and have been there many times over the years. For lovers of the old style of "cabinet of curiosity" museums. I was in love the first time I ever set foot on their creaky wood floors and inhaled deeply the musty, tangy, divine odor of living antiquity. It floods me with pleasant Proustian impressions...

Stopped by to check out the intriguing burnt wood sculptures out front. The museum was closed, but I was intrigued by two things. Behind the museum was a gold cadillac encrusted with lobsters dinosaurs, bulls and real pair of swim fins attached to the Cadillac fins. I had seen this car before on Cape Cod! This is a tongue-in-cheek museum, with a lot of old quirky collections of antiques, flora and fauna and pop-culture thrown in with local history. Dark and dusty with nooks and crannies.
