Seven of us, 4 Adults and 3 young teens, went on the noon 2.5 hour cruise. Two other couples we did not know were also aboard. The Friend Ship was easy to locate and there are many places close by to get sandwiches or snacks to take with you. We enjoyed Captain Glenn and First Mate Katie who made the... More

Booked this sunset sail as a birthday treat for my wife and brought along some friends including a 9 and 13 year old. I got a good feeling about this even over the phone from FL. When I asked if I needed to provide payment or deposit in advance, Captain Glenn said I only had to pay after a safe... More

My wife and I try and take a sail where we go on vacation. This was truely one to remember. It was just Captian Glenn, Katie, and us. We had a very pleasant sail and felt like we were with old friends. I was even allowed to pilot and help with the sails. Thank Glenn and Katie for a wonderful... More

We were looking for a unique experience at the lake while visiting Burlington. We searched the travel sites and found many lake tour excursions. But the reviews of those did not sound like what we were looking for - until we found the Friend Ship from the Whistling Man Schooner Company. It is a much smaller, much more personal and... More

Lake Champlain is a true treasure of New England. A wonderful way to experience some of it's beauty is by boat. The sailing vessel 'Friend Ship' is a beautiful ship piloted by Captain Glenn Findholt, an experienced Captain, a man of many talents and many more stories! Captain Glenn and his crew will make every effotrt to keep you both... More

We just got done doing the sunset two hour cruise on the Friend Ship. It was a gorgeous perfect evening in Burlington and the lake was amazing. The boat is small but comfortable, the captain and first mate friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. The star of the show is beautiful lake Champlain. This is a small boat and you are close... More

We go every year, and it is always fun. This year we had perfect sailing weather. Not too hot, and a nice breeze. More

Friend Ship Sail The best experience we had in Burlington. Make a reservation as soon as you get to Burlington or even before if you can. Although at first blush it seems more expensive @ $35 per head than the commercial boats it isn’t. First you can bring you own food ( we didn’t but will next time) and you... More

Every summer our Parrot Head group enjoys a sunset Cruise with Captain Glen and crew. It's a can't miss event for us and a highlight of summer in Vermont! The Captain and Crew are top notch and the vessel is absolutely gorgeous. Can't think of a better way to spend and evening in Burlington! More

Capt. Glen of the Friend Ship is an entertaining and experienced sailor. He willingly shares his knowledge of the lake and the people who use it. Deckhand Steve Norris is a wonderful story teller. I would recommend this trip to young and old alike. More
