My husband and I were in Monument Valley to find the "Ghost of John Wayne" so we wanted a tour of the area to view the scenes from his movies. We had Tia for our Navaho guide who met us early at the hotel and our journey began. She gave us a fun-filled tour with many facts of her heritage,... More

We visited Monument Valley previously and went on the self-guided tour which I found ok. This year we brought along our two children and went with a guided tour with Black's Jeep Tours. The staff at the office located at the Monument Valley Visitor's Center were very friendly. Our guide, Karen showed up within 15 minutes after we booked the... More

Black's representative met us right on time in the hotel and the horses and guide were ready when we got to the ride location. Horses were a bit scruffy, but solid and well mannered. Our guide Cecil was pretty quiet but enjoyable. Ride through Monument Valley had unbelieveable scenery and we were able to see areas not seen from the... More

We had a terrific time with Karen as our guide. Her roots in the valley really added to the experience. We saw so much more taking the tour than we had we not had access to the backcountry. Karen also sings very nicely. An experience we are unlikely to forget. More

Black Jeep is a great way to see the other side of Monument Valley. I brought a group of photographers on a tour of AZ. Monument Valley was our last stop. Black jeep tours made it the best stop on the trip. Shane was our guide along with Karen they give us a tour that we will never forget. I... More

We decided to take the 2 1/2 hour tour and, boy, we were not disappointed. Well worth the extra cost to go into the restricted area. My wife and I have a 12 year old and a 3 year old, we all piled into an open aired 'jeep' and had a blast. Not sure which of us loved it more.... More

Shane was our guide and we were gone for much longer that the allocated two hours. Shane was extremely knowledgeable and didn't rush as we meandered our way around the valley. The valley was spectacular and although you can drive through the valley if your car is up to the challenge you would not get the commentary that comes with... More

Our family (me, wife, daughter 13, son 11) had countless highlights on this great family trip to the SW including extensive hiking (35+ miles) in the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce, but horseback riding and exploring the restricted areas of Monument Valley with our Jeep guide (Karen) and our horseback guide (Clifford) from Roy Black's Tour group ( http://www.blacksmonumentvalleytours.com/) is... Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the local culture and valley, which make the tour even more interesting. The scenery was spectacular and we saw some truly amazing sites on our private tour. My husband and I completely enjoyed our 2 1/2 hour tour of Monument Valley! More

I strongly recommend Black's monument valley tours (http://www.blacksmonumentvalleytours.com/jeeptour.html). We are from India and took this trip in Dec 2011. Our tour guide (Shane) spent more than 3 hours on the trip even though we had booked a 2.5 hour tour. The tour operator was very flexible and moved the time since we expected a delay while getting to the Monument... More
