The Heber Valley Railroad is a wonderful way to share a train ride experience with grandchildren. The trip is not to lengthy, you don't have to worry about baggage either. Just enjoy the fun of hearing the clickity clack of the railroad and enjoy the scenery. A bit pricey, but a fun trip to share.

The train takes you on a beautiful journey past Deer Creek Lake and down Provo canyon. Beautiful mountain views. Be aware that the steam powered locomotive only runs on the weekends. All other days the train is powered by a Diesel locomotive.

We love the nostalgia of the Heber Creeper. We've ridden on Thomas twice and taken the North Pole Express to see Santa twice. The boys loved every minute of it and we enjoyed the scenery of the area. Great family memories are built here.

A unique ride in beautiful country, nicely done. This steam engine takes you from the Heber terminal, along Deer Creek Res., and down Provo Canyon (river) to the turn around and the trip back. Kids really have a blast on this adventure.

I hate to leave such a negative review for Heber Valley Railroad but, attention needs to be brought to the ticketing agency they use.
Our family booked a North Pole Express ride for the evening of Christmas Eve and had a confirmation printed out with the date and time of the ride.
We showed up at the train station only...

as a family of 10 we have visited the railroad fo rtheir yearly "Polar Express" ride , however every yer it keeps getting a bit more expensive . In the past we would go on family night that would save us some $ since they do offer discounts to some of their other train trips but NOT the Polar Express...

Our 2 week trip in Sept, 2011 was all about trains, and this one was by far the smoothest ride. The trip along the reservoir is serene. Sadly both steam locomotives were down for required maintenance, but one will be back in action in a few months.

Terrific day enjoying the fall colors on the Heber Valley railroad. The 3.0 hour round trip to the lovely turnaround Vivian park at the end of the line was just long enough to give one a taste of what rail travel was once like.
