Beautiful! Every step of the hike to the waterfall was teeming with color and wildlife, and the waterfall was magnificent! Oh, one more thing... you'll want to see the waterfall in the sun, so be sure to leave before 10am because the cliff blocks the sun around 1 or 2 pm. More

I hiked the riverside trail to 'Calf Creek Falls' on my drive between Bryce Canyon NP and Capitol Reef NP, via the 'Burr Trail' (see my reviews) on Highway 12 during my month-long tour of the Utah/Arizona natural attractions last year. The trail and falls are pleasant and can make for a very worthwhile excursion on that journey, especially as... More

The hike itself is not difficult, unless you do it without water on a hot day. Just be smart in that regard. The scenery is quite striking on the 40 minute hike. We felt like we happened onto an old movie set. You know, wagon train in the valley, Indians around the bend, cavalry coming over the ridge (the whole... More

Best camp spot for many miles, though you need to get there early. Sites full very fast, usually by 10:00. Upper sites are best, so you avoid all the traffic day hiking the falls. The hike is moderate and mostly in the sun. Bring lots of water. The falls are spectacular and the swimming hole at the bottom is cold... More
