The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian - style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you'll be right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive. Have fun at this outstanding retail and entertainment district. « less

If you came to Texas a did nothing but ride the Tarantula Train, your trip would be well worth it! Ride it down to the Ft Worth Stockyards and back. You will have a memorable day! Great people and great town there in Grapevine! More

Slow but fun way to go from Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. Kick around, eat lunch, shop, check out the Cowboy museum in the stockyards. You can even walk over to Joe T's for a real treat! The scenery on some parts of the ride aren't the best but a relaxed way to go on a little adventure. More

One July 4th we took this train to Ft. Worth. We landed on the banks of the Trinity River with a picnic basket and waited for the spectacular fireworks show. It was a great family event. More

In December, I paid for two tickets at $36 each for the Grapevine, Texas (Vintage Railroad) Christmas wine train. The website boasts a reception with live Christmas music and wine. Then, a relaxing ride on a 1920's vintage railrode with Christmas carols, more wine to purchase and dessert. The featured winery was Cross Timbers and the website indicated a education... More

We thought this would be a fun and unique way for a local Wine Tasting event with Jazz music. The food was like a picnic, on paper plates - not what we expected for the price. The jazz was a lone trumpet who blasted up and down the aisles. Yes, the train is cute ... but this was not worth... More

We went on the Polar Express trip with my 7 year-old nephew. We waited for 30 minutes in the tent for the show to start. Although this was not uncomfortable they could have played Christmas music or a movie or something to keep the kids entertained during this time. The short show at the beginning with the train conductor was... More

We went last night to the 6:30 pm ride. Do not get there any earlier than your scheduled time to ride. There is nothing to do there except for a tent to make ornaments in and it was so tiny and crowded, we didn't get to do that. After the lame show that was done by kids, we began to... More

11 of us took the train to the stockyards. It was lots of fun. We took the first class one and had hot chocolate and popcorn for $1 on the way. Nice way to get to and from the stockyards. The inside of the coach was all decorated for the holidays. More
