It was fun, but the museum did take a big hit with Hurricane Ike. There was not as many things to see as I would have liked. Much of the displays were ruined in the hurricane we found.

When renovations are complete and the model railroad exhibits are back, this will be a gem. The reasonable entrance fee is apparently matched by the government 10x. The outside train exhibits suffered the most. The pictures of the devastation from Ike give an appreciation of how far they have come, and how much work was needed - especially for an...

The museum was devastated by Hurricane Ike but they are slowly rebuilding. If you look beyond the damage you'll see a great potential and fun place. it will get better over time.

The model railroad section wasn't open yet (it was devistated by hurricane Ike). The main area is cool with its mannequins. I recommend it to anyone interested in railroads. By the way, there is free...
