This a smaller aviation museum but it also offers you the opportunity for flights on vintage WWII aircraft. http://www.lsfm.org/flightexperiences.html The museum is priced at about $8 and is worth the oppportunity to view the restored aircraft.
I was gifted a flight on the AT-6 Texan Trainer which was worth every penny. The flight, on a beautiful day, lasted about 40...

I had an Entertainment Book coupon that granted two-for-one admission and we thought it would be a nice place to visit on a Saturday afternoon. First, it can be a little tricky to find, but if you just follow the signs to Moody Gardens and/or Schlitterbahn, you'll see the signs that lead you to a big, tan metal building (hangar)...

If you are aviation buff this museum will delight you young or older. The staff are really nice and will take time to talk and answer any questions you have. Very impressive. Will go back again if ever in Galveston.

This is a world class aviation museum. Visit them and help them recover from the terrible flooding of a few years back. A great collection of warbirds!

I really enjoyed the visit to this museum. The first thing I liked was that they specifically said it was OK to take photographs, which not all museums appreciate. The aircraft are really set up nicely to get close, too, with a couple of exceptions. Apparently still as the result of damage from Hurricane Ike they have a PBY Catalina...

After a long road back from the destruction of Hurricane Ike, this Galveston museum is in good shape again. The vintage fighter planes are lovingly restored. The care and respect for these old birds are evident throughout the museum. Visitors can even hitch a ride on one of the historic planes through their Warbird Rides program. I can't wait to...
