This quiet little country drive becomes a madhouse in the spring, when the wildflowers put on the best show in Texas. Traffic can become a real problem. Visit, by all means, but your best bet is to go during the week, and PLEASE respect the private property that lines the roads! More

Very nice scenic road - great views of the exposed granite landscape, surrounded by Hill Country limestone. More

When the rains and weather cooperate, WCL exhibits "blankets" of bluebonnets and other wildflowers in the Spring. There is no area to pull off the road as all land along the loop is private. It tends to get too congested during peak times. More

This drive is a must do in the Hill Country. It is always beautiful, but it is georgeous in the spring with the bluebonnets blooming. Locals make the drive on a regular basis during good bluebonnet years. More

Scenic, smells are wonderful, highly recommended during the spring to see the wildflowers. Nice place for pics from the roadside just don't go on the private property. Only 15 minutes from Fredericksburg. More

When in Fredricksburg drive the Willow City Loop. Two things to remember. One, Don't be in a hurry, it cannot be safely driven at more than 20 or 25 mph. Second, Don't drive it on a heavy tourist weekend (it will feel more likr a freeway traffic jam). Go on a weekday or very early in the morning. Well worth... More

Great way to really really see what Texas is like. Get off the main roads and imagine what ranch life is like. This scenic loop takes you through private ranch property. We enjoyed it in October. We hear that it is awesome during wildflower season. More

I rated it average because texas is in a drought and there were no flowers! If there is a drought, there won't be any pretty flowers along the drive. Basically you will be seeing a country road with some pretty views. You are going about 25-30 mph since there are loose livestock...so if you don't have time..I wouldn't suggest it... More

Scenic, rustic, beautiful, just a few words to describe the Willow City Loop. Only 10-15 minutes up HWY 16 from Fredericksburg, this drive is a must see if you are in the area from March 1-Memorial Day. The drive down IH-10 to get to Fredericksburg was memorable. My wife and I saw MILES of bluebonnets, sunflowers, and indian paintbrush along... More
