Love looking at all the actual places people lived and worked and even an old German School House. It was like going back in times. The Ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They can tell you about anything you want to know about the City and all. I highly recommend and will love to go back... More

Although the Park was not officially open, on May 17, 2012, the walk around the Village was very interesting. I wish I could have stayed in Alaska until it opened in June. We did stay for the Alaska Salmon Bake introductory offer. I had the prime roadster and crab legs, the wife had the salmon, and my daughter had the... More

A very interesting and fun way to learn about the pioneer time. The museum has different houses each one dedicated to explain an activity such as making wool, making ropes, making nails etc. We were there during spring break so there were people in most of the houses and lots of activities especially for kids, but it is also very... My husband, 9 year old daughter and I spent about an hour and a half here during Spring Break and had a great time. Even my husband said it was better than he expected, and we both learned some things about German immigrants in Texas and the history of Fredericksburg. There were some special activities for Spring Break, so it... More

My daughters, 6 and 8, had a great time at this museum. It is a complex of several houses originally located on site and other buildings, including an old schoolhouse, moved from the area to this site. We had a brochure that showed the buildings and our visit was self-guided. Many of the buildings had furniture, decorations and equipment from... More

Don't miss this museum if you want to really understand what the settlers endured to make Fredericksburg. I live on an old place myself and it also gave me more understanding of my own place. More

While in Frederickskburg, stop and spend a delightful, educational, afternoon touring the multiple buildings on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum. Step back in time when the town was founded by Germans. See how they lived. Very interesting tour. More
