We drove through the park in the late afternoon on our way to Sevierville. Nice cut through there to Sevierville using Wear Valley Road. Lots of scenery with the mountains and the river. It appeared that Townsend had added more stores and hotel accommadations.
If you love the wilderness you will love it here - and be sure to visit the Townsquare Cafe and Bakery. 16 years of great food.

If you love the outdoors, you have to visit Cherokee National Forest. Forest ranges from southeast Tennessee to northeast Tennessee with many hiking trails, water falls and is also home to part of the AT. Check out Monroe County and Tellico Plains for many trails and the Cherola Skyway.
Love going on trails, so close to GOD when in you are in touch with nature. Going back next year with our set of twin nices who love to explore.
Drove to Clingmans Dome. The ride was great and stopped at the Tennessee.North Carolina line for pictures.
It's a national forest; how can you rate it poor?!?!? or even rate it at all? Mother Nature's in control. Roads are maintained.
