Cheekwood is on our list of places to take houseguests to. The gardens are beautiful - the Japanese Garden in particular. My very favorite thing to do is the Sculpture Trail. It's a walk through the woods with artwork along the way - some of it very obvious, some of it "camouflaged". I've seen people walk right by one particular... More

There was a installation set=up in progress of Bruce Munro's lighting exhibition....sorry we didn't get a chance to see the final product! Beautiful well - marked gardens. A lovely way to spend a half day.

I would spend every weekend here if I lived in Nashville. They have so many different gardens to walk through, spend time in and admire. We spent 3 hours touring the garden. I could have spent the entire day here. A tree house and an outdoor train where we watched a mother bring her young son - he laughed each... More

I found it very disappointed to by the high entrance fee, a parking fee, and fight the construction to find very few blossoms. I would think for the first of May, there would have been more blossoms. The Hershey Gardens in Pennsylvania was a far better experience for looking at flowers. If you have the attitude that you are going... More

This is a beautiful setting. Well maintained grounds and home. Visiting in the spring is very pleasant. Spend 1 - 2 hours strolling around.

We couldn't find this attraction in our Garmin and despite directions from people at the The Hermitage we still had a lot of trouble finding this place but it was worth the trouble. Despite rain storms earlier in the week the tulips were still in full bloom. There were huge crowds because of the tulips but it was still a... More

After reading reviews here I was sure looking forward to a beautiful garden. Well, not so much. Guess they were preparing for the light show coming. Many beautiful green spaces were covered with wire and white light bulb things. It did not seem they had kept good care of the sculpture trail. An employee said the tulips were not there.... More

As someone who likes to be outside, these gardens were a beautiful walk. In addition to the gardens you're able to tour the mansion and they usually have a travelling exhibit in the annex building. The art happened to be appealing to our tastes so we spent some time browsing the gallery as well. Overall a very nice place to... More

We visited in mid-April and were greeted by thousands of color coordinated tulips. What a nice way to start! The art museum is quite nice, though small scale, and the history of the Cheek famly (founders of Maxwell House coffee) was interesting and unexpected. The modern art collection is quite nice, rather more good humored than a lot of modern... More
