Loved the monkeys, and the antebellum home is a must to see while there. Beautiful landscaping. Friendly staff and easy to find the different exhibits and easy access off the interstate.
My lovely wife and I really enjoy going to zoo's. We are from Texas. We are not lucky enough to have zoo's like this since we don't get the rain or have the trees that Tennessee has. Please DO NOT skip this zoo based on the local folks reviews. Even the San Antonio zoo is not this nice. We could...

Nashville Zoo is famous for its Clouded and Snow leopard raising program, and has a large variety of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds, etc. from all over the world. Plan on spending several hours there--it's a big zoo!
It was just an average kinda small zoo. A lot of the animals were far away or hiding, so we didn't see some of them. Had a 4 & 1 year old with us & they seemed to enjoy it. Although the 4 year old wasn't interested in the animals that were so far away. He enjoyed the petting zoo....

Zoo has lots of animals, and you get a pretty good view, if the animals are active.
I liked the natural atmosphere of it. The decor is great. It is laid out in such a way that you don't feel like you're in a big city.
The wooden playground area was amazing! Huge, multilevel with a ton of places to...

I go to the Nashville Zoo frequently, and have always wanted to try one of their "back stage" tours. They offer these tours only a few times a year, and the tour will be of either the elephant, giraffe or anteater barns. This past weekend, I went with my eight-year-old nephew to see the elephant barn. Because I love the...

We went at the beginning of April while we were on vacation. We have a membership to the Knoxville Zoo so we got in half price which was a plus. I expected more animals and easier enclosures to see them. The kids did have fun though even though we couldn't see some of the animals very well.
A nice zoo very spread out and really enjoyed the Old Grassmere House. This Zoo is really spread out with a lot of walking between annimal displays. The concessions were reasonable and not overpriced.
We are now season pass members again. We love the small, but intimate Nashville Zoo. There are some neat exhibits. Don't expect anything like the large metro Zoos. Generally not as crowded. Easy to naviagte. Limited, but quality animals.
